Hello. My name is Barbara Gordon, and I think there's been some sort of mistake.

[Her voice, too, is a gentle one, though edged with confusion.]

I have no idea why I'm here. I'm nothing but a novelist, an activist – I'm pretty sure my worst crime is a few boring lectures.

[She runs a hand through her hair, lets the fingers tremble just slightly.]

I really would like to go home. The Waynes – my family will be worried.

Interdimensional travel. You're a ship known as the Barge. It travels from one dimension to another and houses "Inmates" and "Wardens". Like yourself, I'm an Inmate. I'm Kon-El by the way, but you can just call me Kon.

[The concern in her expression is actually fairly genuine.] You're a little young to be on a prison ship.

I do, I've met two of them. Well, face-to-face and one through this network when there was a glitch. How do you know her?

She's a friend, back home.

She's sort of my cousin. [One considers him to be a cousin and the other an abomination. Though the one in his world was starting to warm up to him until the police arrived.]

Are you familiar with clones in your world or Superman?

Private.

[ladyofgotham]

No Superman, but cloning technology is progressing.

...Someone cloned him?

[She doesn't let the conflict show on her face - the sudden, sharp knowledge that yes, clearly this kid is a danger...

I was created by an organization known as N.O.W.H.E.R.E. to be a weapon for an upcoming war. [As he speaks, his eyes begin to glow red. He holds up a hand in front of the feed and it grows red as well.]

My main power is known as "tactile telekinesis". It allows me to be a very effective weapon but I don't want to be one. I won't be one.

[Her eyes narrow and her shoulders tense, just slightly - but then she nods, curt and firm.]

[Observes her.] Why the change in attitude?

[She immediately offers a rueful smile.]

Usually, when hands start glowing, I get hit with something or other.

[an_abomination]

Fair enough. [The glow fades away.] I'm guessing you're also a...[Raises his hands to his head and makes the bat cowl with his fingers.]

I'm not surprised. Most of the people from Gotham are from the same world. I think you and I are the only two from another universe. [There is another but they haven't spoken yet.]

[flatly] Lucky us.

How well do you know them?

Private.

We get even luckier.I'm willing to bet the two of us they know would be Wardens and not Inmates.

They have their secrets but I'm getting to know them. [One of them is even his girlfriend to boot.] I can tell you that even though you'll likely have your disagreements, they are good people.

...Might be an advantage, actually.

[Barbara nods.] Good to know. [A wry smile.] God knows Gotham can use those.

Think so? [Another thought flickers into his head.] Do you also have a no killing policy?

[A slight nod.] I do. Doesn't always work out that way, but I prefer to take criminals alive.

The justice system isn't perfect, but it's there for a reason. [A slight smile.] And one can always help it along.
